Trinity’s Inland Barge Group includes Trinity Marine Products, Inc., the largest manufacturer of barges
used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways.
Trinity Marine Products, Inc. manufactures dry cargo barges, including
flat-deck and hopper barges, which transport a variety of products including
grain, coal, and aggregates. Trinity Marine also manufactures tank barges that
carry petroleum, petroleum products, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other
liquid cargoes. It is also the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper
barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Using the brand name Nabrico,
Trinity Marine provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry,
including hatches, castings, and winches for barges, towboats, and dock
facilities. The location of Trinity Marine’s manufacturing facilities on U.S.
inland waterways enables rapid delivery of finished barges to customers.
A new, enclosed paint facility at the Company’s plant in Ashland City,
Tennessee, expedites delivery of tank barges. The Inland Barge Group generated
record revenues and operating profit in 2007, and ended the year with the
largest year-end backlog in Trinity Marine’s history. Trinity Marine’s revenues
grew to more than $493 million, its operating profit exceeded $72 million, and
the end-of-year order backlog totaled $753 million.
