Trinity Industries, Inc. owns businesses that are leading providers of rail transportation products and services in North America. Our rail-related businesses market their railcar products and services under the trade name TrinityRail®. The TrinityRail integrated business platform provides railcar manufacturing, maintenance, and modifications as well as railcar leasing and management services. We also own businesses engaged in the manufacture of products used on the nation’s roadways and in traffic control, as well as logistical and transportation businesses that provide support services to a variety of industrial manufacturers.

Trinity began providing industrial products and services to customers more than 85 years ago. We started as a small butane tank manufacturer and evolved over time into a premier diversified industrial company with market-leading businesses serving the energy, chemical, agriculture, transportation, and construction sectors. We have a long history of creating value for our shareholders by providing quality products and services to our customers.

In 2017, we announced our intention to separate Trinity into two public companies, one (Arcosa, Inc.) focused on infrastructure products, the other (Trinity Industries, Inc.) on railcar-related products and services. On Nov. 1, 2018, ownership of Arcosa was distributed to Trinity shareholders in the form of tax-free common stock. You can find more details about Arcosa at

Trinity Industries, Inc. continues to own its rail transportation-related businesses as well as its highway products businesses. We report our financial results in three principal segments: our Rail Group, our Railcar Leasing and Management Services Group, and our All Other Group (which includes our highway products and logistics businesses). Our common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol TRN.

We have updated this website to reflect the new Trinity, with additional improvements to come. Be sure to visit us again.
